Melarti aims to provide his customers with high-quality products which have an original design at very sharp prices.

The roots of the company are going back till 1933. In fact, Melarti evolved out of an other company, which main activity was the selling of raw materials. In 1975, when that company switched from raw materials to developing and finishing products itself, Melarti was born. The company became specialised in interior products, such as Japanese lacquer ware and furniture made out of cane, which was a real success-story. At that time, Melarti was manufacturing particularly in the Far East (Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan).

When cane was beginning to lose its success, Melarti's management decided to turn over to wrought iron. As this happened just at the moment that the contacts with Eastern Europe became more open, they started the professionalization of factories in these region (Poland, Czech Republic); Melarti has developed small and non-profitable family-businesses into larger and more progressive factories. They bought new and safer technology to them - modern electrostatic painting cabins and very modern ovens - better for health and environment.
The selling of the wrought iron in Western Europe started 4 years ago. At this moment, every respectable funiture shop in France, Germany and Belgium buys Melarti's wrought iron furniture. Also in Spain and the Scandinavian countries, Melarti is doing well.

Melarti has improved the traditional wrought iron. Its products are well-considered and reflect respect for traditional smithing techniques.
Designing takes place in Belgium. The company has its own and very highly schooled designers. They respect fashion and originality, as well as comfort and convenience. A new product won't be launched before it has been thoroughly analysed and tested by most important clients in France, Germany and Belgium.
Manufacturing takes place in Eastern Europe and is supervised by Belgian people. In Eastern Europe still exists the real craftsmanship and knowledge that has been lost in Western Europe since a long time. The combination of high technology and real craftsmanship guarantees a very beautiful finished and high quality product.
